FAQ

FAQ

  • Who can attend camp?
  • Anyone between the ages of 7-17, regardless of skill or experience, can attend camp.
  • Do I have to commit to all week of camp?
  • We would encourage and recommend you attend all 5 days as you’ll get the most out of the experience though do understand schedules might not allow for that. If that is the case, and if there is room, you are more than welcome to attend camp on a day to day basis.
  • How do I know what skill level I am?
  • If you are unsure of your skill level, see here for a description of experience levels.
  • What do I need to bring to camp?
  • Each camper is required to have camp forms signed, skateboard, helmet, elbow and knee pads. Campers must also bring carb snacks, protein rich lunch and lots of water.
  • What kind of safety equipment is recommended?
  • We recommend pads designed for skateboarding as they are heavy duty enough to withstand knee slides and proper “falling” techniques without shifting or moving out of place. They typically are more costly than your average sports pads but are absolutely worth the investment. If you have specific questions, feel free to contact us.
  • Is there a discount if I sign up for multiple weeks?
  • Currently we do not offer a multi-week discount. We are only offering a limited number of camps and the camper to instructor ratio is low which guarantees focused hands-on instruction. As we grow and expand our offering, we do intend to offer multi-week discounts.
  • Is there a sibling discount?
  • Yes, the first camper will pay full tuition and the sibling will receive a 15% discount.
  • What if I really want to attend camp but don’t have the funds?
  • RRC is committed to providing a positive experience for campers interested in learning to skate regardless of financial status. We don’t want anyone who wants to attend not to be able to. With the help of donors, scholarships are available. If you are in need of some financial assistance, please contact daneen@redwoodrampcamp.org for more details.
  • How do I apply to help teach or intern?
  • If you have experience and a passion to ride and would like to teach or mentor others who want to learn, please contact daneen@redwoodrampcamp.org.
